The sun has finally been shining this weekend and today to I’ve been a little over-optimistic and started looking into bralets to wear with a pair of high waisted jeans. The four below that I found in Topshop are amazing and reasonably priced. Plus I’m loving the floral print and the range of styles for both day and night
This season as I’m sure you already know, it’s all about pastels.
I think it’s quite difficult to dress “dressy” in pastels, so heres a few gorgeous sequinned tops that will definitely add a little glamour to any outfit.
My personal favourites are the green (top right) and white (bottom right).
These are all from Topshop (of course, where else?!).
This week I’ve become a little bit obsessed with accessories! I have a real adversity to gold so I literally have to hunt around to find good accessories in silver. I won’t even buy a bag that has gold detailing so this can be quite a challenge.
There are two reasons I don’t like wearing gold…
1. I have a platinum wedding band so I like to make sure all the metal I’m wearing is the same colour
2. I’m reeeeeeeeeeally pale and gold just makes that even more glaringly obvious than it already is
I found these last night
Topshop Leather Side Zip Satchel – £85.00
ASOS Fine Cross Bracelet – £6.00
Lipsy Apple Stud Earrings (also from ASOS) – £8.00 (I know these look gold but they are definitely silver!)
These pearl flower earrings are by far my favourite, they’re from Oasis and can also be purchased via ASOS. They come in a pack of 3 (other earrings are shown) – £8.00 for all three.
Have you found any cute silver accessories recently? If so please let me know so I don’t have to hunt around as much
This season’s all about pastels and if, like me, you’re not quite brave enough to wear them yet, you can test the water with these fab nail varnishes (All £5 from Topshop)
These Topshop Nail Varnishes are fast drying, extra long wear with lasting glossy finish and perfect coverage.
As I said earlier I have Parma Violet (see below). I’ve had to apply 3 coats to get an even finish but I really love the colour and it’s totally brightened up my outfit!
I know I write a lot about Topshop and how amazing it is but I don’t work for them – honest! Perhaps I should though.
It’s another cloudy, rainy day here in London and the colour of my clothing reflects the damp dark weather, I’ve gone for all black.
I actually love wearing black, it’s my favourite colour to wear I must admit.
I recently bought a retro Casio watch which I’m wearing today (I vaguely remember my dad having a similar one when I was a child) on Amazon for £17.15 (model number LA-670WA-1UW). The same watch is being sold for upward of £30 on ASOS and in American Apparel at the moment so I think I managed to find myself a bargain.
I’m really happy with this watch for one main reason which is I have unbelievably tiny wrists (added to my all over gangly/lanky appearance) and it doesn’t look totally ridiculous. I started of really wanting a TOY watch but unfortunately they were far too big for me, the watch case was actually wider than my wrist!
I’ve also added a splash of colour by painting my nails with this amazing lilac coloured nail varnish (called Parma Violet, £5 from Topshop)
Do you use painting your nails a bright colour to brighten up an outfit too?
Wow this year’s going by so fast, 1st of May already!
This morning I felt like I needed a little colour in my life so this morning I opted for an electric blue oversized jumper from Mango £22.99. Teamed with black super soft Leigh jeans, £40 from Topshop (they really are super soft and super comfy, also available in Tall). And my favourite pair of wedge heels, Lenny, £65 & also from Topshop.
And of course, my new little friend…
They’ve sold out of almost all Lenny wedges but there’s a fab alternative at Dune which you can see here. The image they have used doesn’t really do them justice, they’re also just as lovely!
Usually, I don’t even think to go into Claire’s Accessories but a friend of mine recently had an 80′s themed birthday party (fancy dress compulsory) so I was desperate for some 80′s jewellery.
Walking in I did feel a little odd as very one else in the was pretty much half my height (probably because they were less than half my age) but as I looked around for brightly coloured earrings etc. I noticed this little guy:
And it really was love at first sight! He’s just so cute and cost around only £4 so today I’m proudly wearing him around the office.
When I woke up this morning the sun was shining! I was quite excited but this happened last week too and by the time I got into the office it was already raining!
So I decided to be conservative, going for some off-white peep toe leather shoes from Topshop – £35 (I have boots under my desk at work, just in case), Topshop’s black heavy weight leggings – £18 (from the Tall section, of course but now only available in regular length) and an oversized black jumper from Topshop – £36 (and from the tall section again!).
As I said before, it’s all about Topshop.
Anyway, I purchased the jumper in December and unfortunately they don’t sell it anymore. They currently have it available in Ice Blue (but it’s selling out fast) or here’s one from Mango that’s pretty similar and it’s only £22.99.
I’ve also put my hair up in a messy bun so all in all I feel like a ballerina who’s put on a comfy sweater to leave a class. But I also feel quite feminine which is important to me as I wear quite a lot of black so I try to find a balance.
I’ve known how amazing Topshop is for a long time now but recently one of the worlds most famous girls has discovered just how fab their clothing is.
Yes Rihanna has been spotted in numerous Topshop items recently and here’s just a few:
This dress is gorgeous so I tried to go online and purchase it. This image of her wearing their white shirt dress only hit the press a few hours ago and it’s already sold out in all sizes other than UK 16! The dress was on sale for £38.
She wore this PEACE bralet at Coachella 2012 and it’s now completely sold out! I can’t even find it on Topshop’s website anymore.
And recently she spent a massive 5 hours in their Flagship store on Oxford Street – I thought the 2 hours I spent last week was long!
These are just a few recent pieces that I’ve noticed her wearing but if you google “Rihanna Topshop” there are multiple sites documenting when she wears it and I can tell you, she wears it an awful lot!
Check out this one. The Cleopatra jumper you can see her wearing fast became their best-selling item.
But there’s something I have noticed about that particular jumper, it’s hideous. And most probably wasn’t selling at all until she wore it. If you aren’t British and you’re reading this, please don’t judge this amazing UK fashion brand by THAT jumper.
If you’ve just got a Topshop near you (e.g. if you live in Vegas) I would really recommend you make a visit, and open your mind to the eclectic British style it’s become so iconic for.
Now, I’m not going to keep up a pretence that I can go onto net-a-porter.com or walk into any Louis Vuitton store and pick up whatever I like the look of, because I can’t. In this day and age when you need at least £20,000 (for any American’s out there that’s about $30,000) just as a deposit on a house that’s not even in central London, I have to watch what I spend.
But every now and again a certain something in a certain store catches my eye and I deliberate with myself about whether or not it’s a good purchase until I finally buy it.
At the moment, it’s this gorgeous Mulberry purse
The Somerset Zip Around has just the right number of card slots along with a removable four card holder and and extra pocket at the front. Of course none of this actually matters, it’s just all the reasons/features I have focussed on in order to justify me buying it.
I went into Selfridges on Oxford Street this weekend just to check it out in the flesh and it was just as amazing, I may reward myself with this purse if I manage to loose a few pounds, but more about that later!
